CommonAngels invests solely in early stage digital media, mobile, software, SAAS, Internet-based, cloud, and other information technology related companies. These include businesses with low-capital requirements for hardware or infrastructure such as robotics, semiconductors and communications. We have two investment programs:
Preferred Rounds typically around $1.5M for companies at beta-stage around go-to-market located in the greater Boston area, New England and New York City, in all the above categories. We target a 45-60 day process where we typically are the lead investor, draw upon the expertise of the CommonAngels network and have a deep relationship with the entrepreneur in the overall company and capital strategy. We usually syndicate these investments, playing an active lead role, with venture funds, other angel investors and strategic investors.
Seed Investments mostly in Internet-enabled or mobile companies focused on consumers or small-to-medium businesses at alpha stage to prove market validation. These rounds range from $250K-1M where we are a small, likely less involved player. Investment decisions are made by the two managing directors in a short period of time, typically days, and capital comes from CommonAngels funds under management.
